Repost from Indonesia.travel – The teamLab Future Park is a whole new interactive art exhibition right here in Jakarta. It offers a harmonious collaboration between art and technology, and it wants YOU to be a part of the interaction! How is it interactive one may ask?
A ball might light up if you touch it, or an animal and a flower will move if you walk past and so much more.
The exhibition has been going on since June and will continue until the 20th of December. This is located on the 2nd floor of Gandaria City, an exclusive shopping mall in South Jakarta. To enjoy this art exhibition, you’ll have to get tickets for only IDR 150k on weekdays and 175k on weekends per person. You can purchase this on the spot at the Ground Floor of Gandaria City and also online on their website.
There are five interactive art installations in this beautiful art exhibit: Animal Flowers, Symbiotic Lives; Graffiti Nature: Lost, Immersed and Reborn, Sliding through the Fruit Field, Sketch Aquarium and Light Ball Orchestra.
In the Animal Flowers, Symbiotic Lives exhibit, you get to play with the colorful flowers. The Graffiti Nature: Lost, Immersed and Reborn exhibit is a single ecosystem where various creatures live, the catch is: they are all drawn by visitors. If you drew something here, when you do visit again, your creature continues to live on here, unless it is eaten by other animals. You can also draw flowers and plants here.
In the Sliding Through the Fruit Field exhibit, you get to slide down a slope with fruit fields as the background. To “smash” the fruit, all you have to do is just slide down and try to get as many as you can. While in the Sketch Aquarium, you can draw your own animal, scan it, and it will appear in the aquarium! It is absolutely fun and it’s time to get your creative side out. Don’t forget to enjoy the Light Ball Orchestra with hundreds of decorative balls light up and make a sound at your touch.
It will take you around 1-2 hours to walk around and enjoy all the exhibits so it really is a great getaway for those of you who love art exhibits like these. Please keep in mind that you cannot bring a tripod, monopod and selfie stick, therefore it’s best to bring a friend to take your pictures for you!
After your whole enchanting experience, don’t forget to explore Gandaria City Mall as well. Here you can enjoy endless shopping, including Uniqlo and H&M. You can also visit the Gandaria Mainstreet which is a 600-meter area of indoor and outdoor space, complete with restaurants, bistros, lounges, cafes and even dessert places. This beautiful street is designed to reflect all the different architectural features of Batavia (Old Town) with a mix of New York’s Times Square.
You should also try visiting Senayan City Mall or Pondok Indah Mall, all nearby from Gandaria City and have their own charms that you should try experiencing yourself. Both of these malls are high-end malls and one of the most visited shopping malls in Jakarta. Here you can find all kinds of shops for your needs and also a great choice of food for a taste of local culinary.
